No my friend, darkness is not everywhere, for here and there I find faces illuminated from within; paper lanterns among the dark trees.

Hair: She has naturally straight raven hair that reaches beyond her shoulders to her mid-back.

Eyes: Her almond-shaped eyes are a dark brown and framed by thick dark eyelashes.

Height: She is relatively short in comparison to other centaurs at 2.20 m.

Weight: She weighs 412 kg, which is slightly lighter than the average horse[~500 kg].

Attire: When she lived with her own kind, she would wear traditional clothing. This consisted of a violet bell sleeve top with a deep V-neck design. As well as a dark grey hooded cloak which elegantly draped over her equine half and decorated with silver floral patterns along the rims.

As a slave, she wears a plain black t-shirt with spaghetti straps that is stained and ragged at the ends.

General: For a centaur, Nymeria is very sleek and slender and often considered more elegant and graceful than most of her kind. However she has a fair bit of muscle in her and often surprises people with her strength. Her skin is lightly tanned, but is also a lot paler than most centaurs. Her skin is tougher than that of a human's as are all centaurs whose skin is of a similar strength to that of a horse. Her equine half is covered in a dapple grey coat, that almost appears silver in the light hence her name 'The Silver Lady', and is accompanied by a flax tail. She has four dark hooves in addition. Her features were very fluid and her body borders on an apple shape yet the figure is not very distinct and appears pencil shaped from a distance. Her facial features are not angular and are very soft. Her raven hair flows smoothly like water down to her mid-back. She usually keeps her hair in a traditional bun. She has almond-shaped eyes and framed by thick dark lashes.

Overall, she appears quite delicate though one ought not to be fooled by appearances and whilst she is more elegant than most centaurs, she shouldn't be underestimated when it comes to her physical abilities. She creates an aura about herself which is both serious and controlled yet also relaxed and peaceful, it is essentially a balance she has found within.

However after a few years in captivity, Nymeria has lost a lot of weight which she didn't have all too much of before and she appears almost broken; the light having faded from her eyes, her coat having lost it's silver shine and her her face carved into a stoic and emotionless impression. She has her own collection of wounds and cuts, that ruin her once flawless skin. From a few years ago, she finds herself hardly recognisable and is only a weak and broken shadow of what she used to be.

There are two kinds of light - the glow that illumines, and the glare that obscures.

Likes:
*Archery - Centaurs are well-known for their skill at archery, and Nymeria is no stranger to a bow. She has been trained since the tender age of 5 by her marksman at when she was a child and since then on has flourished at the sport. She feels in control, confident and a sort of power with a bow in hand. Especially her own which is made of black polished wood with silver inscriptions on the arc, her arrows are also equipped with silver helically fletched arrows.
*Music - Nymeria has a strong love for music, the lute in particular. Her voice is fairly husky and so when it comes to singing, she usually stays out but she has a strong love for her lute amongst other instruments such as the harp and the flute which she plays. She feels at peace when playing or listening to music and has a strong feel for rhythm.
*Open Spaces - Nymeria never feels more at home than when she is out in the open and in natural surroundings. She craves space to run freely and move around.
*Animals - As she is at one with flora, she is also with fauna. And being part animal she relates easier to them. She spends a lot of time around animals, no matter how scaly, furry or slimy.
*Freedom - Nymeria is above all, a freedom-loving person and finds it difficult to adjust to a life full of restrictions. Without the freedom to be herself and try, she is at loss.

Dislikes:
*Loud and Sudden Noises/Movements - As a centaur, Nymeria is particularly sensitive to sound which means she picks up the quietest of noises. She gets nervous when there is too much noise [Noises from a city, gunfire, fireworks, etc.]
*Large Cities - She feels lost at at an unease in cities. She had never been to a city before she arrived at Enthira and the change was so dramatic and sudden that she was absolutely terrified. Her fear has now turned into a hatred.
*Enclosed Areas - Whether it be as large as castle walls, or as small as a cell, Nymeria cannot cope when she is unable to get away and detests the restrictions that it poses.
*Fire - Nymeria had rarely seen fire before she came to the city and after being brandished, she associates flames with pain and becomes agitated anywhere near them.
*Humans - As a result of the misery that the rule of King Derrick has brought to her kind, she has made a generalisation and both mistrusts and loathes humans.

Strengths:
*Mentally Strong - She is a very determined character and it takes a lot for her to give up hope. She stands by her morals shamelessly and her overall will power is very strong indeed.
*Respectful - Even in hatred and even towards her enemies, Nymeria manages to respect others and always offers a chance for them to redeem themselves. She may not seem like the chattiest person on the planet, but she will give respect where it is due.
*Intelligent - Nymeria is a strategic, logical and analytical person, being able to solve problems and make associations very quickly. Riddles are a favourite of hers.
*Calm and Patient - Nymeria never rushes into decisions and always takes a step back to think about something before acting. She is not easily provoked to anger but there are weak spots. However even in a vengeful state, she will take the time to plan and never lets anger take control.
*Dutiful - No matter how much she despises a task, she will carry it out if it is her duty. She will always do as she is told by her elders and never leaves a chore unfinished.
*Persuasive - Whether it be on a council, rallying her friends or putting forth an argument, Nymeria always manages to sound very convincing.
*Agile - As a fighter, she is very skilled and was taught at a young age how to fight. Her greatest skill as a fighter is her speed and agility and she will try and use that to her advantage. When she fights, she appears to be in total control and almost relaxed, planning every step and move and analysing the opponent.

Weaknesses:
* Not Academic - Despite her intelligence, when she is confronted with matters that she has never come across before such as economics, history of men, geography, science, etc. She is at a complete loss, this means her unacademic background is often mistaken as stupidity.
*Lacks Initiative - With all her planning and checking, she sometimes lacks the initiative to make a decsion based purely on feelings which is oft required in situations where she has no resources and cannot access all the information she would require to plan an attack.
*Not Physically Strong - For a centaur, she hardly relies on pure strength and though her equine hqlf is still much stronger than one man, it is easily overcome by several and as she has never trained using her strength whilst among her people she doesn't know how to use it.
*Stoic - Though on the inside, she is a passionate person, she can often appear very serious and emotionless on the outside.
*Fearful - Instinct often battles with her mind, and she has a natural instinct to flee from danger. Being mentally strong, she is usually able to overcome this but her fear often prevents her from taking action in an unfamiliar environment.
*Trust Issues - She doesn't trust many out of her own race after having such a sudden change imposed upon her by men which has led her to not trusting humans.

Quirks/Habits:
*In an urban area, she will often paw the ground and pound her hooves in frustration but that is usually the most emotion she will show.
*She also swishes her tail when she's agitated.

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it

Pet: A young kestrel of the name Pilot who has remained with her all these years and in her mind symbolises hope that there still is something good in this world.
Place of Birth: The Whispering Woods, a place which is now legend but originally the birthplace of Nymeria's family before being destroyed by men. It is now a shadow of what it used to be, burnt stumps of trees is all that remains and it is part of the swamp.
History: Nymeria was born and raised in the Whispering Woods, an area characterised by the blossom trees that would bloom in spring. It was a place truly at one with nature and the centaurs which inhabited it protected the flora and fauna. Few knew of the location but it wasn't unknown. The centaurs preferred to stay away from the humans to prevent conflict. And so here, in this natural haven Nymeria was raised.
Trained by her parents in duty and wisdom, she quickly learnt the meaning of becoming an honourable and dutiful Lady, putting the needs of others before her own and never complaining once. They taught her how importance a harmonious balance was with nature and gifted her with the notions of control, balance and justice. Her uncle, would often train her in the arts of combat along with the other children from her village and despite not being of a similar build to the others, she caught on quickly and learned to use control, balance and agility to win fights in the stead of brute strength and ferocity as she had neither.
And so, for the most part of her life she grew up at ease and carried out her duties. She was happy and couldn't wish for a more perfect home than the one she had. She grew into a wise and graceful young centaur but everything took a horrible turn for her on the night of her 22nd birthday.
There had been celebrations and feasts to mark the birthday of the young Silver Lady, but with all the gaiety and merriment, they had not noticed the intruders entering the forest. Eventually Hodr felt something was wrong but before he could react, the attack was on and centaurs were being rounded, slaughtered and captured. Those who put up too good of a fight were executed, Hodr and Shara were two of those people. Nymeria was too confused and weak to be able to fight, so chained and broken she was shoved into a carriage that carried her from her home and to Enthira. Not all the centaurs were killed but she had never seen another centaur since that day.
During her first three years of captivity, Nymeria remained non-complying and resilient to the humans, stoically refusing to do as she was bid and even became so frightened she would lash out. However, the men had her well under control and whether she wished to comply or not was irrelevant and so she was brandished to mark her as a slave.
At the age of 25, after years of resistance, Nymeria was finally worked until her spirit broke and she no longer found the strength in her to fight her captors. She works in the dungeons of the Castle doing manual labour. She is kept out of sight and hasn't seen a tree nor felt a breeze upon her cheeks, let alone another person outside of the palace guards. Though none of that matters to her now as she is a broken soul.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
